A focus on tumor-associated macrophages

Three members of the AGORA Cancer Research Center have teamed up to discuss an important type of immune cell found in tumors: macrophages.

Macrophages play an important role in the development and growth of cancer. In this article, published in Nature Reviews Clinical Oncology, we discuss our latest understanding of these cells and how control ling them in therapy could improve outcomes for many patients. We also suggest how macrophage-targeted therapies could be integrated into routine clinical practice, taking into account a precision oncology approach.
