Prof. Johanna Joyce Elected to the 2024 AACR Academy Fellows.

The American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) proudly announces the election of Prof. Johanna Joyce into the esteemed 2024 Class of Fellows of the AACR Academy.

Johanna Joyce, AGORA member and Professor in the Department of Oncology at the University of Lausanne, and Member of the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research, Lausanne Branch, Switzerland, is recognized for groundbreaking contributions to the immune tumor microenvironment during brain cancer initiation and progression. Her work focuses on elucidating mechanisms by which altered brain tumor microenvironments and macrophages confer resistance to diverse therapies.

Committed to recognizing and honoring innovators in cancer research, the AACR Academy has elected 30 distinguished individuals this year. All fellows undergo a meticulous annual, multistep peer review process, assessing each candidate’s scientific achievements in cancer research and related sciences. Induction into the AACR Academy is reserved for those whose work demonstrates a significant and enduring impact on cancer research.

All newly elected fellows of the AACR Academy will be formally recognized during the AACR Annual Meeting 2024 Opening Ceremony on Sunday, April 7, at 8 a.m. PT.
