Les coulisses de la recherche | November 16th

The SCCL Oncology Patient lab launches a new meeting series on Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) in Cancer Research. The opening event will be held on November 16, 2023 at 9h at the Paternot Auditorium, and is open to the entire AGORA community, as well as to all interested members of the public.

By bringing all involved parties together, the Oncology Patient Lab aims to create a meeting point for everyone interested in engaging in PPI. This includes not only researchers, but importantly also patients/relatives/research-interested citizens and healthcare professionals.

In an informal atmosphere, the goal is to discover together opportunities for partnerships in oncology research. Participants will have the opportunity to discover fundamental research projects presented by young researchers from the Agora community, followed by examples from the Oncology Patient Laboratory on their experiences practicing PPI in translational cancer research.

An open discussion at the end will allow everyone to exchange views and raise questions about PPI in research. These exchanges will continue over a convivial breakfast.

Note: For the next editions of this event, taking place in March and June 2024, the team is still looking for junior cancer researchers that are motivated to share their work in layman language (French)! If you are curious about this opportunity, please contact the Oncology Patient lab communications officer Klara Soukup (klara.soukup@chuv.ch).
