The SCCL Oncology Patient lab invites you to the 3rd edition of their meeting series on Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) in Cancer Research. The final event before the summer break will be held on June 6, 2024 at 2 p.m. at the Paternot Auditorium. It is open to the entire AGORA community, as well as to all interested members of the public.
By bringing all involved parties together, the Oncology Patient Lab aims to create a meeting point for everyone interested in engaging in PPI. This includes not only researchers, but importantly also patients/relatives/research-interested citizens and healthcare professionals.
After two highly successful editions, our next event will take place on June 6th, 2024, at 2 pm at the Paternot Auditorium.
> In this edition, the first project will take you into the field of study models used in oncology research. Carla Faria from Bernhard Gentners lab and Gaspard Pardon of the BET facility will share their insights into how organoids can be used to better understand and treat cancers.
> The second presentation will showcase a project aimed at enhancing the hospitality offered to cancer patients, drawing inspiration from methods developed in the hospitality industry. Kim Lê Van from the Centre sur le vécu des Patient·es proches et professionel·les at CHUV will take you on a journey to discover a project in which patient partners are implicated at multiple stages.
And, of course, discussions will continue over coffee and sweet treats!
In an informal atmosphere, the goal is to discover together opportunities for partnerships in oncology research. Participants will have the opportunity to discover fundamental research projects presented by young researchers from the Agora community, followed by examples from the Oncology Patient Laboratory on their experiences practicing PPI in translational cancer research.
