Prof. Bernhard Gentner and his team have been awarded generous support from the Oak Foundation. The foundation’s support enables the creation of a new professorship entitled “Oak Foundation Professorship in Immune Stem-Cell Engineering” – a first in UNIL – CHUV history.
The Oak Foundation has awarded CHF 2.5 million to CHUV/UNIL to support the innovative work of Prof. Gentner and his research team in the fight against cancer.
This contribution allows the creation of a new professorship entitled “Oak Foundation Professorship in Immune Stem-Cell Engineering” – a first in the history of the University of Lausanne and the CHUV.
On Wednesday, March 15, 2023, an event was held at the AGORA in Lausanne to celebrate the appointment of Bernhard Gentner as the first to hold this title. Representatives from UNIL, the CHUV Foundation, the CHUV and Oak were present.
The Oak Foundation was founded in 1983. Its administrative headquarters are in Geneva. Since its foundation, it has provided over 5,000 grants to non-profit organizations worldwide, with the mission to make the “world a safer, fairer and more sustainable place to live”.
