Alexandre Harari, Professor at the Department of Fundamental Oncology (UNIL) and the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research – Lausanne Branch, and member of the AGORA Cancer Research Center, has been awarded a CHF 701,265 project grant from the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) to advance personalised T-cell therapies for cancer.
The project aims to develop an innovative approach to identifying tumour-reactive T-cell receptors (TCRs), which could enable more precise and effective cancer immunotherapies without requiring prior knowledge of the tumour antigens.
Building on TRTpred, an AI-based method published in Nature Biotechnology, Prof. Harari’s team will expand its research across several major cancer types and investigate whether tumour-reactive TCRs can be identified directly from blood samples rather than tumour tissue.
The findings could support the development of next-generation personalised T-cell therapies, contributing to more targeted and effective cancer treatments.
Congratulations to Prof. Harari and his team on this achievement!
