Swiss Forum on Health System Sustainability | June 8

With its Roadmap on Environmental Sustainability of Health Services (2022) as a reference point, the Swiss Academy of Medical Sciences (SAMS) is organizing a one-day event on June 8, 2023 at the Eventforum in Bern entitled: « Forum Suisse pour la durabilité du système de santé: comment réussir la transformation? » (Swiss Forum on Health System Sustainability: How to achieve transformation?)

The objective is to highlight existing initiatives, to inspire other actions and to create a community of health professionals committed to the durable transition of health services in Switzerland.

Human health is increasingly affected by environmental degradation. Moreover, health services contribute significantly to the current climate crisis. Finally, we observe that these same health services are showing their limits in terms of their capacity to provide quality, effective, efficient and equitable care. So how can we rethink health services that are more sustainable and respectful of planetary limits? This is the question to which the SAMS has dedicated its roadmap published in June 2022 (below).

CALL FOR ABSTRACTS: Are you involved in an ambitious, innovative and creative project that fits into one of the seven proposals of the SAMS roadmap? Are you working in the fields of medicine, health sciences, humanities, social sciences or environmental sciences? Then answer our call for abstracts.

The selected projects will be the subject of a presentation or a poster during the Forum. The most innovative project will be awarded a prize of CHF 1000 by a jury of experts.

Abstract submission deadline: February 28, 2023.
