Welcoming Professors Waszak and Hottinger to AGORA

We are pleased to announce the addition of two distinguished research groups to AGORA, with the full support of the AGORA Scientific Committee and Coordinating Body:

Professor Sébastien Waszak’s Group, EPFL

Professor Waszak is a leading figure in computational genomics and precision oncology. His group’s cutting-edge research harnesses computational methods and data-driven approaches to unlock new insights into the development and progression of pediatric gliomas. His work is set to advance diagnostics and therapeutic decision-making with real-time molecular information, further strengthening AGORA’s expertise in precision oncology.

Professor Andreas Hottinger’s Group, CHUV

Professor Hottinger is a renowned expert in neuro-oncology, with a focus on developing new treatment strategies against brain cancers. His group’s move to AGORA is closely linked with the Lundin Family Brain Cancer Research Centre. The aim of this centre is to foster strong research collaborations between the various clinical specialists involved in the management of patients with brain cancer and basic and translational laboratories. Their innovative and integrative approach is expected to have a profound impact on brain cancer treatment including on the development of novel immunotherapies. The Lundin Family Brain Cancer Research Centre already has ongoing collaborations with several teams from the AGORA, including the teams of Profs J. Joyce, D. Hanahan and D. Migliorini.
